Getting Started

Please note that you are required to be a local administrator on your PC to install the database engine, systems and utilities associated with the products. Contact your systems administrator for more details.

Please review the Known Issues document prior to installation.

1)  Download the TRIM.ZIP (Warning 175MB) file to your hard disk and extract it to a directory.

2) Run the Trim_Installer program.

3) Select the components to install.  If this is a stand alone system use the default settings provided.  The other (un-ticked components) provide the following services:

• The database conversion wizard is required to convert existing Step-Ahead or Video Analysis systems to the new database structures.
• The TRIM License Server is required when operating the system on a network in a multi user environment

4) Click the 'Install' button to commence installation.

5) Important: You will need to configure the database engine to allow both local and remote access.

6) Once the installation processes have completed you can open either TRIM Video Analysis or TRIM Practice Manager to begin operation.

7)  Enter the computer or server name in the fields provided and your user password.  The default password is Master (case sensitive).  Select the 'Log in' button. 

8)  If you dont have a registration file you will prompted to obtain one (purchase the system).  If you are evaluating the system select the 'Close and Use Evaluation' button. 

This will open the system in evaluation mode giving you access to most functions in the system.  You will be restricted in the number of patients you can add and the number of days you can access the system.

9)  The system will now open ready for use.  See Using Video Analysis or Using TRIM Practice Manager for details.
