2 July 2010: The applications have also been rebuilt and tested to run on Windows 7 (both 32 and 64 bit versions). Be aware that the current installation program will not operate under Windows 7 x64 and you will require assistance from Trim Systems for the installation. 2 July 2010: Overview: Trim SMS allows you to set SMS reminders for appointments and to SMS one or a group of patients directly out of the Practice Management System. Patients can also choose not to be SMSed (opt out) and this is recorded against the patient record. Requirements: You will need to run a version 4.X upgrade of Trim on your systems and contact Trim to have the trimsms service and management console installed. The license fee for this is a once off $49.00. You will also need to take out an SMS Service Agreement with Trim Systems messaging partner MessageMedia (www.MessageMedia.com.au) . Cost: Once off license fee to Trim Systems $49.00 MesageMedia Service Fees and Charges : Plans begin at $25.00 per month (which includes $25.00 of messages at 0.20 cents per message) plus a Once-Off $49.00 Account Activation and License Fee. Download A Service Application form: Includes explanation of all costs and conditions. 2 July 2010: Many notebooks will fail to access the MS SQL database engine when no network is present, hence not allowing the Trim application to open. Follow these steps to get over this problem: 1) Install the latest updates of Trim Practice Management. 2) Edit the Hosts file. You will need to be the Administrator of your system to do this. The hosts file is found at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc. Add the following line to the end of the file... 127.0.0.1 localhost and then save the file. This is called a loopback reference and allows your network card to access itself when no cable is plugged in. 3) Edit the footbase.ini file. You will need to bo the Administrator of your system to do this. The footbase.ini file is found at C:\WINDOWS. There is also a user copy for Windows Vista and Windows 7 located at file:///C:/Users/UserName/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Windows (where UserName is your user name) and both will need to be changed.
